TAC analysis of biological samples usually requires a deproteinization step. This step adds complexity to TAC assays and does not allow to take into account the potential contribution of proteins to the total antioxidant capacity.
A modification of the classical CUPRAC protocol (BQC CUPRAC AssayKit) has been introduced in Biological samples BQC CUPRAC Assay Kit to allow the direct TAC determination in biological samples without the need of a deproteinization step.
Biological samples BQC CUPRAC Assay Kit is a quick and very easy testspecially designed for the direct analysis of TAC in a wide variety ofsamples like plasma, urine, serum, etc.
분석 원리 (Assay Principle)
The BQC CUPRAC (Cupric Reducing Antioxidant Capacity) TAC Assay Kitis based on the reduction of Cu (II) to Cu (I) by antioxidants. The CUPRAC reagent is a Cu (II)-neocuproine complex that is reduced to Cu (I)-neocuproine chromophore (λmax=450 nm) in the presence ofantioxidants (AOX). Therefore, the absorbance measured at 450 nmdepends linearly on the antioxidant concentration in the sample. The synthetic antioxidant Trolox (included in the kit) is used to standardize the sample TAC relative to Trolox (Trolox Equivalents Antioxidant Capacity, TEAC).
